the label

Heidi & Seek does not sacrifice good design to be green. Hayley's clothing is not intended for wear in one season and a deposit in the charity bin the next. These designs are wearable, individual and nonconforming to fad trends. Each garment is one-of-a-kind.
the designer
Hayley Lau has been designing and creating clothes since 2004. Since learning about the devastating impact of clothing manufacturing on people and the environment, she has endeavoured to challenge the norms of the fashion industry in an effort to live more ethically and encourage others to do the same. She wants to give consumers a reason to spend more than $20 on a piece of clothing. Of this price, a minute percentage is paid to the sewer for their work. Purchasing these clothes supports today’s throwaway culture and contributes to massive resource expenditure and carbon emissions, not to mention the damage caused by cotton pesticide poisons. For more info about the ethics of fashion, take a look at the ethics page.
Hayley resides in Melbourne, Australia with her daughter and fiancé. She continues to struggle for ethical living in all areas of her life.
